About Bennington

In a little town called Elkhart, Indiana in 1997, three friends came together to start a privately-owned business making pontoons. The three were Richard Strefling, Steve Vogel and Patrick Call. This makes Bennington one youngest brand on the market of pontoon boats today. They also have an agreement with StanCraft Boat Company who lent designs and help on construction as well on about 35 boats a year.

Bennington allows their customers to “build their own” pontoon boats, by letting them have their customers give them the options to build their dream pontoon boat, which helps Bennington innovate and bring new styling and other things to the market every year. Custom orders make up around 10% of their business.

On May 30th, 2018, Bennington (Boat Holding LLC) was sold to Polaris Industries LLC for $805 Million Dollars. But, with this purchase, Bennington was still able to operate as an independent unit under Polaris and still built in Elkhart.
